Jimmy Carter, in perhaps the only decision that made any sense during his Administration, banned America's participation in the 1980 Moscow Summer Games in protest of the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan the previous year.
We are now just a year away from the Beijing Olympics and a return to a Communist country for the first time since those '80 Games and short of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan... we're all going!
