The more I see of this team (and, admittedly, about Game 4 of the Western Conf. Finals was the first time I saw them all year), the more I wonder, "How is this team in the Finals? Was the West that weak this year?"
Talk about gutless performances. Totally unworthy of a Laker-Celtic series.
Quick. Where's my VHS tape of Game 4 of the 1987 Series?
- Mongo Longing for The Days...
Somewhere the bands are playing.
Somewhere happy children shout.
But there is no joy in Smogville.
Phil's mighty Lakers fade out.
They no get bonus.
Phil's mighty Lakers fade out.
Who else, Dad
I feared that this Laker unit did not have the requisite time together to win it all. I didn't think they would get past the Spurs, but somehow they made it. Unfortunately, I have to suffer through watching the Celtics out-hustle and out-rebound the Lakers and generally play a tougher more physical brand of basketball. Being old enough to remember the Laker losses in the finals in the '60s, this is especially galling.
