We're getting the distinct impression these people would not have taken a loss well.

We were reading an article today in Politico.com about the massive voter turnout that never happened when we ran across this:

It sort of calls into question some of the vaunted ground game discussion, the whole turnout machine,” said a Democratic strategist who did not want to be quoted by name criticizing Obama’s campaign. “The GOTV effort was redoubled in 2008 compared to 2004, but it did not seem to make that big of a difference.”

…. And these were the guys that won?

And check out Obama Transition Team honcho, Valerie Jarrett, on Meet the Press over the weekend talking about how Obama is prepared to “take power and being to rule Day One.”

Obama… dude… we’re trying to give you an even shake, here – but you need to get a grip on your website and some of your followers. This is getting beyond one or two simple slip-ups and/or gaffes and speaks directly to the perception of your imperious nature and the unreasonableness of your supporters.

(We were walking to the pub Saturday evening to watch some football and we came across a house that had a bunch of cars out front and red, white and blue balloons in the front yard. In that same front yard there was a sign that read “Obamanos”. Seriously, who the hell has a house party because their candidate got elected? Who in a white middle-class neighborhood does this…? Unreal.)

Then again, maybe we should be thankful Obama got elected. Given what we’ve seen to date, we’d hate to see what may have happened had Obama actually lost.

Lot of talk on here about how Dems would have reacted had they not got their guy in the White House.

Of course, history shows what we should be worried about is right wing gun-toting whackjobs now that a Dem is back in the White House...

No doubt about it, Mongo. Most crime and violence in the US comes from solidly Republican neighborhoods. The ones with a majority of married, church-going families. Kevlar? Ha! That's not going to stop us! We've got bake sales planned.

Muuuhahahahaha!

Vandals target home with pro-Obama signs in Torrance

Incidents involving swastikas and racial slurs were reported Sunday in the Hollywood Riviera area. They are being investigated as possible hate crimes, police say.

Vandals spray-painted swatiskas and racial slurs on the home and cars of several Torrance residents who had displayed campaign signs or bumper stickers supporting President-elect Barack Obama, authorities said today.

The incidents occurred Saturday night in the Hollywood Riviera section of the city, said Sgt. Bernard Anderson. Four separate incidents were reported the next day between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., he said.

No arrests have been made.

At one home, the phrase "Go Back to Africa" was spray-painted across the wall, in addition to a racial epithet on the garage door, Anderson said. Several parked vehicles on the streets also were spray-painted with racial slurs, he said.

"We're taking this very seriously," Anderson said, noting that investigators had been working closely with residents, community groups, and other local police agencies. "We're putting all of our resources into this investigation."

The incidents are being investigated as possible hate crimes.

Anyone with information about the incidents can call police at (310) 328-3456.
