We were over at a friend’s house in El Cajon a couple of evenings ago and while standing in the driveway we saw a white Ford F150 pickup truck coming up the street. Its two passengers were middle-aged Latinos sporting cowboy hats. The truck, which was blasting Ranchera music pulled into the driveway of a house across the street from where we were standing and which was flying from its eaves… a big-ass American flag.
That, folks, is our idea of diversity.
Different cultures, music forms, food and languages all exist and thrive in this country for a reason. At the figurative end of the day, after all is said and done, it’s America, a nation of liberty, freedom and laws that we all return home to.
P.S. To turn on its head a phrase which we hear constantly and which drives us nuts: We are diverse because we are great.

Foxie....I gotz the USMC Flag along with the USA. So does my best Friend Ernie, an American of Mexican descent down in 'Dago....
I'm still trying to figure out what flag to use with the US of A... Maybe just leave it at that. ;^p
