On the floor of the House last week, here's Sheila Jackson Lee (D - TX) talking about, what else, the Democrats' failure to articulate to the electorate just how wonderful ObamaCare is:
Message to you unwashed yobs out there: Sheila Jackson Lee knows just how much damn nuance is in this bill. It's unbelievable.
And hard work? You bet. It's a small wonder the Congressional infirmary wasn't forced to turn Congressmen away suffering from thrown-out backs and strained ligaments such was the effort to cram in all those special deals and kickbacks.
But "nuance" is a perfect word for describing what's in ObamaCare as only nuance can explain the mechanism for how it is that ObamaCare waivers, as one example, were granted as "political patronage" can be such an unseemly term.
Thanks to Representative Lee for speaking truth to power or something.

Probably not the response she was hoping for.

Texas Governor, Rick Perry, was a guest on Roger Hedgecock’s show a few days ago. He concluded that the Federal Government was abrogating their responsibility to enforce the border and decided to do something about it. He went to the legislature and requested and received $100 million dollars for border enforcement. Perry’s not real big on the wholesale use of fences. They do however, serve a purpose in strategic locations. Its "boots on the ground" that are the real key to border enforcement, Perry believes. He claims that there has been a 65% drop in crime in border regions since he put his plan into effect.
While trolling around the state governor site to dig up some dirt, we found this which is a letter from Perry to Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, who, from the nature of the response was bitching about the presence of the Minutemen along the Texas border. (Not incidentally, Jackson Lee is on the House Judiciary subcommittee on Immigration and Claims).
Perry responds very respectfully stating that the Minutemen are private citizens and can come and go as they please. He also states that because of her standing in the referenced committee, she has the power to do something about illegal immigration. He ends with this mild little zinger: “If you want to send the Minutemen home, I urge you to make sure we have enough federal agents on the border to secure it.” Zip….
