…woops, he did it again. Candidate Obama, once a strong federalist in the matter of gay marriage now has little use for state level direct democracy. Obama, in a letter to a LGBT Democratic Club said he supports extending "fully equal rights and benefits to same-sex couples under both state and federal law." "And that is why I oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the U.S. Constitution or those of other states,"
Again, with the “divisive”. Here’s ours: “incomprehensible” and “incoherent”.
But as Capt. Ed points out, its really not about the issues themselves anymore upon which he is constantly flipping like a short order cook at a truck stop in Barstow but rather what this reveals about the man himself, his character and his readiness for the biggest job on the planet.
Quite a two weeks for Obama…. FISA, death penalty, 2nd amendment, public financing, gay marriage… did we forget anything…?
Two judicial eggs over-medium and a tall stack of buttermilk flapjack social issues with a side of hot states-rights turnovers.
