Link of the day

*

A chance meeting at K and B wine cellars a couple weeks back had us chatting with Ryan who is the co-publisher of the WestCoaster. Ryan and the rest of the gang over there hope to churn out a (monthly?) publication that will be the only one of its kind to be devoted exclusively to the microbrew scene here in San Diego.

Ryan seemed like a really great guy and the passion he had for this venture was undeniable. Writing about beer in your hometown? What's not to like about that?

Anyway, you are hereby directed to get on over to their website, here. Check it out and leave a comment to let them know they are being supported.

BwD buys American

The near apocryphal Russian River Brewing Company’s Pliny the Elder I.P.A. and Alpine Beer Company’s Pure Hoppiness were at long last located (at this remote outpost off of Mission Gorge Road in Santee), tracked, purchased and imbibed back at BwD HQ this evening. Mmmmmm….. tasty.

Oh, and we finally reactivated our iTunes account and purchased John Doe’s (formerly of X and the Knitters among others) “Forever Hasn’t Happened Yet” after listening to it over at Mr. Styles residence last week. Good stuff.

Theocracy Alert

Please swing by our buddy, Ogre’s place when you get a chance. He is no longer drinking Budweiser as they’ve been bought-out by the Belgians at In-Bev and he’s lookin’ for some American fare as a replacement.

Outside of the occasional Coors product, we’ve pretty much gone the micro-brew route. Stone, Sierra Nevada, Ballast Point, Port Brewing, etc… San Diego and California and definitely home-grown American beers, all. As Ogre is from North Carolina, we suggested that the Research Triangle area in and around Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham should be fertile ground for some local heaven-in-a-mug.

No man should long be separated from his beer so lend our Monsignor of Breweries a hand, will ya?
