Radio KBwD is on the air

Want to get a furious YouTube commenter war of words going? Post a video of this guy and then comment that Hendrix was better.

We believe this performance was from the 1985 Montreux Jazz Festival where he and his band mates received a much warmer welcome when they returned as conquering heroes than they did at the ’82 Festival where they were booed as the crass blues and rock’n’roll American upstarts (The ’82 Festival was where David Bowie discovered him and had him play on his “Let’s Dance” album).

Ladies and Gentleman, from Austin, Texas it's they late great Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble performing a two-fer, “Scuttle Buttin’” and “Say What!”

P.S. We give Hendrix the nod only because he was first. Jimi was so far ahead of his time, 40 years on and people still haven’t caught up. But as far technical mastery of their craft, play both guys’ version of “Voodoo Chile” back to back and we think you’ll agree that Stevie holds a decided edge.

I never "got" Hendrix. Even though Bdaddy used to accuse me of listening to "burnt out hippie music", Hendrix never did anything for me. I know he paved the way with his own brand of sloppy, trippin blues, but he doesn't hold a candle to "his genius",Stevie Ray Vaughn.

No nod to Mongo for being able to belt out the riff to "Smoke on the Water" and the 5 or 10 basic notes of "Dazed and Confused"??
