Huge sports Saturday. We’ll be catching the Kentucky Derby from Tequila Club at Baja Betty’s. We’re starting off with a trifecta of Friesan Fire, General Quarters and Dunkirk. One of the favorites, Wood Memorial winner, I Want Revenge has scratched so that has thrown handicapping into a bit of a spin. Head on over to East Coast Bias, where the guys have done their usual solid job in making the complex somewhat simple, here. We’re also going to throw some money at 50-1 long shot, Summer Bird, based upon nothing other than the colt’s massive Beyer’s bounce… 65, 78 and then 99 in his last 3 races.
Game 7 of Bulls v. Celtics in Boston. Whether this will be remembered as the greatest playoff series of all-time depends on tonight. It’s pretty simple: if the Bulls can pull off the near-impossible (home teams win 80% of game 7s) then it will be remembered as such or, at least, in that neighborhood. If Celts win then, well… it was just a first-round playoff series, afterall.
Nightcap: Manny Pacquiao v. Ricky Hatton in Vegas. Depending upon who you are rooting for, may we suggest either Princess Pub or one of the many house parties going down tonight in the Paradise Hills neighborhood. We like Pac-Man in a TKO in the 9th.
