After a reporter asked Gabrielle Douglas what it felt like to be the first African-American all-around gold medal winner in gymnastics, she responded:
"Oh, my gosh, I forgot about that,"
For a person that trained in Iowa, there is hope that Douglas's reaction is reflective of how young people in America view race.
We can hope.

How could you find racism in the NBC commercial, unless you were racist to project it? This has been a disgusting mess to what should have been a wonderful moment.
