Quote of the Day

"That's going to cause us to make some real decisions as to who gets how much health care and when they get it… To the extent we need to raise taxes down the road we're going to have to sort of work our way down that income level starting with people making over $250,000 and maybe even going further down. I hope we don't have to do too much of that."

(italics, ours)

That from Lawrence J. Haas, former communications director for Vice President Al Gore.

If you are shocked or dismayed that your benevolent bureaucratic benefactors will be calling the shots in determining just how much health care you are deemed worthy of receiving, you have not been paying attention. This is precisely what has happened in both Europe and Canada.

And what is it with the Obama Line at $250K?… it’s where the filthy undeserving rich kicks off… unless it doesn’t. As Haas intimates and what has been hinted at before by the President himself, the Obama Line may very well start creeping south. Bet that it will.

But all of this makes perfect sense – it really does. If you are going to have “free” health care then 2 things are going to have to happen: You will experience a reduction in services because there is not nearly enough money to fund the care you have now and in order to pay for even those services after the slashing, taxes will have to go up just to pay for them… and it won’t just be the filthy undeserving rich that will be funding it.

We sincerely appreciate Mr. Haas’s candor. It’s about as straight forward and honest an assessment of socialized medicine that we've heard from one who is actively campaigning for it.
