More than just sticks and stones

The nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court has already achieved a boon for our political culture: It has helped leading liberals and Democrats to discover that being tarred as a racist on flimsy grounds is unfair and deeply unpleasant.

Mona Charen takes us way, way back to Bush’s (W.) first term and remembers one Judge Charles Pickering who was nominated by the President to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. You remember him, don’t you? The “forceful advocate for a cross burner”.

"If Democrats are learning this now, that’s excellent news" (Mona Charen)

Are you kidding me?

What's good for the goose is never good for the gander. Can we be so naive to think they (Dems and MSM) might see the light? And it's not because they "get it" or "don't get it", they know it's unfair and feign righteous indignation only when it suits their purpose. The "team" mentality of the liberals just goes along.

On an individual basis, we can change hearts and minds. ABoV for instance, but I had circumstantial assistance from the anti-Hillary MSM coverage.

The conservatives consistently make the mistake they are dealing with rational people.

You can tell those on the team the emporor has no clothes all day long, and you will be smattered with name calling, sarcasm, out of context non-sequiturs, and spell check and typo errors, rather than facing facts or presenting a valid argument.

Have you ever tried to talk sense to a Jehovah's Witness or a Creation Scientist? When presented facts, the opposition is based on, "if your not with me, you must be against me, therefore you're the enemy and invalidates your position"
