Smack of the day

.

Now who was it that was supposed to be the patriarchal, chauvanistic pigs?

Here's Dana Loesch on the liberal-left's leading men, rape and, of course, "context":

No one is debating capitalism, what Moulitsas mistakes as “Occupy points.” The movement has had zero impact, except on crime statistics. At best, it was the shining hope of a manufactured populist unrest to aid Obama in his reelection efforts, but it dissipated into an irrelevant criminal cesspool.

The bottom line is that neither man gave any concern to the number of rape victims in the Occupy movement. Sexual attacks have gone wholly ignored by progressive males. Moulitsas calls the rape accusations (the rapes all sourced above) “bogeymen.” Yes, the “compassionate” progressive tosses women under the bus because acknowledging their assault at the hands of a progressive ideology that takes what it wants — be it capital, property, or sex — harms the stability of their movement. Progressive males have sent a message loud and clear to victimized females in the Occupy movement: we don’t care. They want to win more than they want you to be safe.

If you disagree, ask yourself how many times one of them has condemned the sexual attacks.

If you try to excuse the attacks with the “rogue” excuse, then ask yourself why none of these men reported on how many camps were working to cover up the rapes and prevent women from reporting them to the authorities.

Ask yourself why none of these men have discussed why so-called “safe zones” were established in various camps to protect women from sexual predators which were other Occupiers.

Now ask yourself if these progressive men ignoring this issue really care about the equality they prattle on about whenever they gum in front of a camera.

The answer is, of course, that they don’t.

The statist mindset is that of coersion. If it applies to capital and private property, why shouldn't it also apply to that most private of properties, your body?

Everyone in this movement talks about “fair shares” and “spreading the wealth,” how about spreading the respect for women’s bodies? How about spreading the wealth of consideration? Or did that get downtwinkled at the frat party meeting?

Olbermann and Moulitsas talk a really good game about compassion and equality but at their core they share the same oppressive traits that sparked a revolution, and they’ve gotten lazy about hiding it.

Yep. Kinda like the tea party.

Joe Biden: American orator

...meanwhile, at a fundraiser in Philadelphia, Vice President Biden waxes analogous:

In setting up his comparison, the vice president explained to the audience that before the Violence Against Women Act that he championed was passed into law, “there was this attitude in our society of blaming the victim," according to a press pool account of the event.

“When a woman got raped, blame her because she was wearing a skirt too short, she looked the wrong way or she wasn't home in time to make the dinner,” Biden said.

“We've gotten by that,” he said. “But it's amazing how these Republicans, the right wing of this party – whose philosophy threw us into this God-awful hole we’re in, gave us the tremendous deficit we’ve inherited – that they’re now using, now attempting to use, the very economic condition they have created to blame the victim – whether it’s organized labor or ordinary middle-class working men and women. It's bizarre. It's bizarre.”

First, we love the title of the article from The Hill from which this came: "At campaign event Biden mentions rape in criticizing Republicans". It's just like mentioning steroids in criticizing Barry Bonds or mentioning Kenya when talking about President Obama. Ya know... just throwin' it out there. No harm, no foul, right?

Of course, we've come to expect this sort of foot-in-the-mouth idiocy from "Choo-choo" but what we would like to know is where is the outrage from women's groups for such a crass trivialization of such a horrible crime?

Further proof that the "feminist movement" has been politicized to the point that all gaffe-meisters are created equal and some just a little more equal than others.

Chip Franklin, just yesterday, reminded us to pray for the health of the President not just because it is the decent and honorable thing to do but because it comes with the added benefit of hopefully ensuring this buffoon will never get into the Oval Office.

this is according to our religion. You are my wife, I c[an] do anything to you. The woman, she should submit and do anything I ask her to do.

Now, here's a real heart-warming story that was alerted to us at The Corner with a post titled, "Sharia Creeps". Without context, be it known that creeps is in the intransitive verb form though the noun form would certainly qualify in this case, as well.

A woman brought suit against her Muslim husband for non-consensual sex and other abuses. The judge presiding in the case refused to find that there had been sexual assault or any other criminal misconduct because under Sharia law a wife cannot refuse her husband's request for sex. Here's the judge's reasoning:

This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited.

Charmed, we're sure.

So, where did this all go down? Saudi Arabia? Iran? Perhaps England which is slowly losing its way in the West vs. East war with respect to assimilation and sharia law? No, no and no. This little marital dust-up and resulting sharia-friendly ruling by the judge went down in New Jersey.

The defendant employed the ol' I-didn't-know-I-could-knock-my-wife-around-and-force-myself-on-her-because-I'm-Muslim defense. And we'll be damned if it didn't work.

Thankfully, an appellate court reversed this ruling, stating that for the time being at least, the law of the land here in the states super cedes any sort of violent and misogynistic features of a cave-dwelling body of law that might by practiced abroad:

Defendant’s conduct in engaging in non consensual sexual intercourse was unquestionably knowing, regardless of his view that his religion permitted him to act as he did.

As the judge recognized, the case thus presents a conflict between the criminal law and religious precepts. In resolving this conflict, the judge determined to except defendant from the operation of the State’s statutes as the result of his religious beliefs. In doing so, the judge was mistaken.

We dodged that bullet. Shame that it actually had to be reversed on appeal. What does that tell us about how things are trending in this country?

And when internationalists inform us that we must look overseas to see how law is interpreted there, do you think this is what they had in mind?

A letter to the editor and tragedy here in San Diego

My wife and I had the privilege of meeting a remarkable young lady this past weekend. Her name is Chelsea King, the Poway High senior who went missing on Thursday. While unfortunately the meeting was not face-to-face, nonetheless we grew to learn all about her as we participated as volunteers in Chelsea’s search-and-rescue efforts.

We learned that throughout her 17 years, Chelsea has managed to touch the lives of countless people – so much so that the procession of volunteers who have been showing up at the search center in Rancho Bernardo numbers in the thousands. People, who despite often ultra-challenging search conditions, never complain and simply long for a chance to do something – anything – that might help.

We found out that Chelsea’s friends and schoolmates are extraordinary and delightful, reflecting highly on their families as well as their school.
We confirmed that Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch and the greater San Diego communities are replete with individuals of deep compassion and unrelenting concern for one another.

We further discovered that Kelly and Brent King are extremely loving and strong parents beyond words – a couple that continue to display their undeterred strength with grace, poise and faith.

But over these last several days, there was no greater lesson learned than this: Chelsea’s family, friends and community need her home. Clearly, the world is a much better place with her in it.

JOHN STOEPLER
Scripps Ranch

On Tuesday afternoon, what is believed to be the body of Chelsea King was found in a shallow grave near Lake Hodges just north of San Diego.

Chelsea, a high schooler at nearby Poway High, had been missing since Friday after not returning home from a run at the park surrounding the lake and which resulted in the largest missing persons search effort in San Diego’s history as 1,500 people participated both Saturday and Sunday with many continuing the search on Monday and Tuesday.

There is a registered sex offender, John Albert Gardner III, in custody on suspicion of rape and murder in Chelsea’s disappearance.

It is our prayer that Chelsea will no longer feel the pain and abandonment that she experienced in the last moments of her life and that she is experiencing the limitless expanse of the Almighty's compassion, grace and love. Our prayers also to her parents and to the rest of her family and friends.

As for this Gardner creature, we’ll let the wheels of justice turn at its own pace. If he is found guilty, we believe the death penalty to be too honorable a fate and permanent incarceration far too expensive. For savages like Gardner and other rapists and murderers of his ilk, we propose a Devil’s Island-type existence.

Since they have refused to live by societal norms and mores, we will grant them their wish and they can all have it out Lord of the Flies-style in some remote tropical outpost with the Prison bureau dropping food onto the island from time to time because to not do so would probably be decried as inhumane.

Time for some "Skunkies"

While wrapping up '07 we had some fun with year-end awards. General malaise prevented us from doing it last year but because of the nature of things, we want to hand out one or two this year.

This is why you wait ‘til the very end. This is why you don’t pull the plug on the worst article of the year until the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31st. We didn’t think we’d be able to say it but Mark Whicker’s horribly inappropriate and lame “Congratulations, Jaycee (Dugard). You’ve left the yard” column has been bested(?).

Jeff Norman writing for the HuffPo works himself into a righteous lather over the righteous lather worked up by critics of director Roman Polanski. This Polanski is indeed to be confused with the self-confessed drugging, raping and sodomizing director Roman Polanski who is currently doing hard time in his Swiss chalet.

The floor is yours Norman:

Demonstrating the same lack of self-esteem as prisoners who beat up child molesters, noisy segments of the American population continue to hyperventilate over Roman Polanski as if the sexual abuse of minors were not already sufficiently condemned by our society.

We actually do feel like the moral equivalent of prisoners beating up child molesters or something. However, as free men, we would love to take a few cracks at Polanski, himself.

The offense for which Polanski's extradition from Switzerland is sought is barely considered a crime in Europe, where the age of consent is as low as 13.

So he drugged and raped the 13 yr. old in his Swiss chalet? We missed that part (Commenters to article jump on the fact that Spain is the only country in Europe with an age of consent as low as 13 and we're curious how Europeans feel being equated with a child sodomizer).

Regardless of how one feels about Polanski or his confessed/alleged crimes, guilt or innocence should be determined by actual evidence, not mere perception.

We feel about Polanski the way we do because he, uhhh… confessed to the deed.

Just because a lot of pathetic people need to dwell on the director's supposed indecency to make themselves feel decent in comparison, doesn't mean that normal evidentiary standards should be abandoned in the Polanski matter.

(italics, ours)

Hey, we don’t condone physical violence in any manner but as proud (and pathetic) uncles of several young nieces and nephews, were this creep Norman to be in the general vicinity of them, we’d beat the living crap out of the guy just to be on the safe side.

Congratulations, Jeff Norman! You’ve left your senses (were you to possess any in the first place).

It's all a matter of perspective

As Europe's grasp on Western civilization continues to slip away there are specific instances that become defining moments in illustrating just how far along this process has devolved. KT has the low down on one such instance, here.
