T.V....? Not here.

Because we’d be embarrassed to admit that our musical preferences were influenced by a commercial on TV we’ll just say …. that a friend was watching the NBA playoffs on TNT and really, really liked a song they heard for a Dockers ad and thought we might like it also.

Marlena Shaw…. “California Soul”

P.S. Would it be a stretch to say we hear some of the Mamas and Papas in this song?

Dean,
You know how to push my buttons. Are marketing execs to lame to come up with their own music? They will take a classic rock tune, usually one that’s been played to death or one that’s generally annoying, dig it up from it’s grave, and beat me senseless with it.

Viva Las Vegas for erection medication is the one that’s killing me right now.

Very rarely do they bring back good tunes. And when they do, I have had enough by the time the commercial runs it’s course. It’s rock n roll, commercials destroy a vitally essential quality in the music. Viva Neil Young!!!!

Call congress, there ought to be a law!!!

By the way, love the song by Marlena Shaw, exception noted.

She has a sexy gritty voice, kinda like the wonderful Shirley Bassey who sang Goldfinger. Dawg, I agree that the Viva Viagra song is annoying but I would choose it over the rap noise some people consider music.
