Saw 'em. Even more amazing in person. If you get a chance, watch one of the planes circling into Lindbergh through a pair of binoculars as they pass by the thunderheads. You really get an idea of how massive those things are.
Had a lightning show out my back window the other night for about 5 minutes.

And because I was at work, I wasn't able to photograph when they were at their top "anvil" height just an hour before.
At 2:30, the line-up spanned across the entire eastern horizon... from well south of the border to the Little San Bernardinos up north.
