Don't Believe the Hype

Air America host, Randi Rhodes was suspended for calling Hillary Clinton a “whore”. Video clip of that incident here. Here’s what our tea leaves tell us: Randi Rhodes was not suspended for calling Hillary Clinton a shameless woman of the night. Randi Rhodes was suspended as a pre-emptive strike so that the next time Rush says something “controversial”, the liberal/Left will be able to say: “Hey… we suspended one of ours – its only right, Clear Channel, that you now suspend Rush”.

This is a type of media “asymmetrical warfare”, though, as Rhodes has a mere fraction of Rush’s listeners.

Next time Rush does say something…… “controversial” and we don’t hear this incident and “disciplinary measure” referenced to leverage a similar fate, please feel free to serve up our crow. We’ll gladly chow-down.

The two are apples and oranges. Rhodes comments were not just over the top, but indecent and depraved. Rush at worst has been bombastic and satirical.

I seriously doubt that Rhodes would conspire in such a way in order to provide a tit -for-tat pre-mptive situation; but we can wait and see.

Rush already has the Dems vexed with his "operation chaos" bit. There are already liberal (obama side) ponderings on how to prosecute him for inciting voter fraud.

The Hillary camp, a benefactor of the radio bit, is much less offended. "One of the sticking points holding up a possible do-over election in Michigan is a rule that would ban anyone who voted in the Republican presidential primary from voting again in the Democratic one. Mrs. Clinton wants the Republicans to be able to vote! She is totally aware of what's going on with Operation Chaos and Rush the Vote, and she wants Republicans to be able to vote in the Michigan do-over if it happens."

Of course we know the Obamalibs don't have a legal chance in hell for a successful prosecution, especially when both sides are encouraging Republicans to do the same thing.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of the primary and observe whether the Democratic party can unify after watching the canibalism on display by Ms. Rhodes and others.

Rhodes was merely caught up in her own loathsome and hostile feelings for Clinton. It is the same type of rhetoric used for the last eight years against President Bush. Nothing more.

The Ferraro comment whereby she claimed Obama's race influenced his "historic political rise" was not only accurate, but a mirror of what Obama had said about himself earlier in his career. "If I weren't black, I would have been just another freshman senator without a book deal" (paraphrase)

'Dawg, the decency gulf that separates what Rhodes said from whatever Rush has said in the past matters not... As I said, its "assymetrical warfare". The lib/Left will hold this up as some sort of shining example of how they "police" their own. I didn't say it had to make any sense, only that it will happen. Let's kick back, relax and wait for the inevitable.

May be, after the fact, I just don't see it as a calcualted plan. Besides, we already threw Imus under the bus.

But you're probably correct, if intellectual dishonesty continues to run amuck.

Hope you blog on the Operation Chaos bit. I was getting a little tired of Rush, he was getting stale. This was refreshing.
