Some not so random thoughts for the day

.

So, let's get this straight: When Rush Limbaugh endeavored to be part of an ownership group that was to purchase the St. Louis Rams 3 years ago, people absolutely freaked out to the point that they were basically making up and/or attributing quotes to him that he never said in what was one of the most appalling cases of journalism on record...

... yet that foul-mouthed, creepy little misogynist, Bill Maher, purchases a minority ownership stake in the NY Mets and there's nary a peep.

Got it.

Perhaps this double standard is aided and abetted by the fact that linked Maher article above describes the man who has donated $1 million to an Obama Super Pac, as a "libertarian". What were we saying again about the appalling state of journalism? Then again, if an MSNBC viewer falls in the woods does it make a sound?

So, let's get this straight Pt. II: They're offended by the term, yet they'll use it in a tag line to get out the vote or something:

Emry is quick to make clear that she doesn’t use the word to describe, well, herself.

“That is not a word that I attach to myself. It doesn’t even begin to fit my lifestyle and my personal history. I’m a very likely feminist. I’m not a likely slut.”

'K. Our current understanding of modern feminism is that of looking at a dog chase its tail.

We thought we had time for some more but we were wrong - perhaps back later.
