Back in the mid-80s the kids of Hollywood High School were asked who it was they most wanted to perform at their senior prom. Duran Duran..? Nope. The Police…? Nah. Bruce Springsteen…? Please.
The band they wanted to see was this L.A. band that was at the forefront of the Mod revival scene in Southern California with their blend of reggae, ska, rock, funk and soul…. A combination that could be considered an L.A. thing as this blend shaped the sounds by varying degrees of other prominent area bands like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oingo Boingo, Fishbone and later Sublime.
Ladies and Gentleman…. From Los Angeles, California…… The Untouchables performing “I Spy (for the FBI)”
