‘Bout nine years ago, we also were on the banks of the Willamette but for a micro-brew festival, mind you, where we estimated the crowd was approximately 24,002 people. 72,000 people were on hand Sunday for the Decemberists concert/Obama rally, so either the Decemberists or Obama are decidedly more popular than micro-brews for the good folks of Portland and greater Oregon… we just can’t figure out which.
Newsbusters has story here on Obama’s trepidation regarding having to follow the Decemberists a’ la the Who following Hendrix at Monterey in ’67.
