Addington

Substitute here.

We touched earlier this week on the benefits and virtues of PBS.

One of the better stories to come down the pike recently was PBS' workhorse "Frontline" doing a show on Vice President Cheney and a man you've probably never heard of, Cheney's general counsel David Addington -- the Man Behind the Curtain. It's Frontline journalism in its purist form.

What it purports to do is present a big piece of the behind-the-scenes puzzle. You know, the one that wasn't presented at the White House podium (Ari Fleischer) while the White House went rogue and repeatedly gave the Heisman to every substantive Congressional and Supreme Court proclamation on the War in Iraq, the War on Terror, and the liberties of everyday American civilians.

In short, this documentary gives a good idea to the question we were all asking: What the hell is going on? Take a look (click link and press "Watch the Full Program On Line" towards the top of the page): http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/cheney/
