Video clip of the day

Matt Welch of Reason.tv on the Department of Education raid that was executed earlier this month on a residence in Stockton, CA on account of an outstanding student loan and which we reported out on here.

And, no, the DoE agents weren't armed with No. 2s and 6th grade grammar text books.

No doing the due diligence to make sure the target was to be in the residence.

We don't think we mind local police having state of technology gear to better fight crime but with that comes an increased responsibility and a raising of the stakes, if you will, as a lax attitude towards due diligence can and will lead to the police state Welch is talking about.

And this is to say nothing of what in the hell is the Department of Education doing with its own little SWAT Team?

I can't get the video to load, but as a rule local police HATE working with these fed-cop-wanabe 'officers'...they NEVER know the first thing about civil liberties...or care. Had no idea the DOE held armed raids. Insane.
