Your friendly neighborhood Keynesian chuckles while patting you on the head (there, there) and very reassuringly tells you the reason why we can spend the living bejeezus out of everything is because… well, because it’s just like WWII when our debt burden to GDP ratio was greater than it is today and we managed to pay that off.
Read KT’s post here on why that is a horrible comparison and bears absolutely no resemblance to our current situation.
