Maxine Waters on anger management

Nice little take-down of Maxine Waters (D-CA) whose views of the 1st amendment would appear to be relative depending upon whom is exercising the rights contained therein.

(language warning)

"...waving the American flag... outrageous behavior"

And Waters was less than apologetic with respect to the 1992 South-Central riots that occurred in the wake of the Rodney King not-guilty verdict, much of which took place in Waters' congressional district.

The anger that you see expressed out there in Los Angeles, in my district this evening, is a righteous anger, and it's difficult for me to say to the people, "Don't be angry." When people are angry and enraged, they do do senseless things, they do act even sometimes out of character, and that's why it is the responsibility of America to try and avoid putting people in these kinds of situations.

See? It's the inherent racism in Americans that caused it. It's your fault.

On the National Guard when they arrived:
"I think the occupation is complete," said Representative Maxine Waters, a Democrat whose district includes South-Central Los Angeles. "They've got the National Guard and God knows who stationed all over the place. People are being contained with this security, but they are still just as angry. The problems won't just go away."

If memory serves correctly, Korean shop owners in the area made some of those problems go away (see also: 2nd amendment).

Damn these interwebs and their long memories.

First off, thank you for the awesome plug for the Tea Party gear...Dawn and I have a healthy tax bill just for the privilege of running a "business" in this fine state...so ever penny helps a great deal!

Second...great piece. I haven't seen that coverage of Waters before. That woman is pure vitriol. And as someone who was living in North Long Beach during the riots, there was no happier day than when the National Guard finally showed up to "occupy" South LA County. But I guess 3 days of lawless looting, assault, and arson just wasn't enough for our fine Congresswoman to the north. As if she was there. You know she watched her community fall apart from a cushy office in D.C.

I was sort of wondering when they were going to dust her off to accuse us all of being racists. Nothing like a consistent playbook.
