The most totally expeceted news item lede of the day

There... they go again...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. employers hired far fewer workers than expected in May and the jobless rate rose to 9.1 percent, raising concerns the economy might be stuck in a painful slow-growth mode.

Two things: 1) Why is this sort of news so continually and habitually unexpected?
Shameless cheerleading or complete incompetence? This lede could've been written at pretty much any time over the past two years or so.

The question needs to be asked because 2) precisely what actions have been taken by the administration with respect to the economy and/or what has transpired that would lead economists to react so unexpectedly?

O.K., one more: 3) Doesn't the last line pretty much say, "uh, yeah, deal with it, chumps"?

We need new economists. Keynesian hacks and tongue-bathers need not apply.

Maybe Obama should be serving fries with that since half the jobs came from McDonalds?
