Quote of the Day

"With so much energy in Venezuela, how can we be without power?" asked Fernando Aponte, 49, whose slum neighborhood of Las Delicias in San Felix spent 15 days without electricity

KT has yet another lesson on the long and winding road to FAIL that is socialism.

Folks, you'll have to excuse Mongo. He just returned from performing his mission and was unaware that we have nationalized a portion of this country's nine largest banks.

And depending on how things shake out next Tuesday we will be on our way to nationalizing the health care industry as well as your retirement account.

Wow! If all that took place in the last few weeks, shouldn't we be charging the Bush Administration with...

socialism??

Mongo gets it right!

I read a great quote somewhere in the blogosphere recently. It said that the Bush administration came in as social conservatives and is leaving as conservative socialists.

Thanks for the link, Dean.

And yet, strangely, I don't feel like I'm in a socialist state. Nor did I feel like I was in a socialist state while traveling in France or any of a dozen other European countries. Nor did I feel threatened by the Socialist Boogieman while in any of said European countries (though I'm not certain I can say the same for the GOP Boogieman).

Anyway, time to open another bottle of French wine that I didn't pour down the gutter at the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom...

P.S. -- Great to see the Extreme Right's righteous indignation with the Bush Administration showing up in the final 1/31 of his illustrious dictatorship of our fair nation.
