I read a great quote somewhere in the blogosphere recently. It said that the Bush administration came in as social conservatives and is leaving as conservative socialists.

And yet, strangely, I don't feel like I'm in a socialist state. Nor did I feel like I was in a socialist state while traveling in France or any of a dozen other European countries. Nor did I feel threatened by the Socialist Boogieman while in any of said European countries (though I'm not certain I can say the same for the GOP Boogieman).
Anyway, time to open another bottle of French wine that I didn't pour down the gutter at the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom...
